Scientology Volunteer Ministers Bring L. Ron Hubbard Assist Technology to the Vivekananda Polyclinic Hospital

Swami Muktinathananda addresses the graduation of the first class of nursing students to be trained at the Vivekananda Polyclinic Hospital in Scientology assist technology.
Swami Muktinanthananda has implemented training in Scientology assist technology to all nursing staff in the Vivekananda Polyclinic hospital in Lucknow, India.
Throughout history religions have attempted to relieve suffering. By the application of his discoveries to the mental and spiritual aspects of physical difficulties, L. Ron Hubbard developed a body of technology known as “assists,” which operate on the principle that if injured, one tends to mentally or spiritually withdraw from the injured area. By restoring communication with the injured area one brings the spiritual element into the healing process.
Assist technology is included in the Scientology Handbook, the text on which Scientology Volunteer Ministers are trained. Not only do Volunteer Ministers help individuals with Scientology assists, they make training on these techniques available to others.
Swami Muktinanthananda is the head of the Vivekananda Polyclinic, a 350-bed hospital in Lucknow in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India, which includes a modern diagnostic center attached to a nursing college.
When introduced to the concept of Scientology assists by the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour in India, the swami immediately grasped the potential of these spiritual techniques and the help they could provide the patients and the staff of his hospital.
He arranged for the Volunteer Ministers to train his staff on Scientology assist technology, included a seminar, where the hospital matron and 40 staff nurses learned Scientology assist technology. To make sure the nurses were getting the best possible results, Volunteer Ministers then accompanied the nurses on the wards apprenticing them while they worked with their patients.
The results were nothing short of miraculous. For example, a premature infant who had not moved once since he was born was given an assist. Within minutes he started moving and kicking his feet and his color and tone improved. A patient was brought out of a coma through the application of an assist designed to establish communication with an unconscious person.
Based on the success of the program, Swami Muktinathanda decided to implement this technology throughout the hospital.
“We have been trying to improve the hospital in various ways,” said the swami, “but with Scientology technologies we find that there has been a significant improvement so far as the attitude of our nursing staff is concerned. He described this as “a human approach in removing the distress of the patients.”
Two of the first nurses to be trained, and who are now training the other nurses on assist techniques were very appreciative of what they have gained:
“I joined nursing because I wanted to serve people. I think through the touch assist I can get a better chance to serve people who are needy. So I am very thankful to the Scientology group because they have given me a golden chance to learn something that is new for me, which helps not only patients but all those who need help.” – S. S. N., Nurse
“It was a very red letter day in my life when I was selected as a student of the Scientology class. I was absolutely new to this subject, but on the first day of my class I gained a new light of knowledge. It is also a great opportunity for me to improve myself.” – T. D., Nurse
Swami Muktinanthananda spoke at the graduation of the nurses who were trained in these techniques. He describes the success of the program in these terms: “We are very proud to say that this Vivekananda Polyclinic is the 1st institution in Uttar Pradesh and in this country to include this technology as a part of our curriculum. I would like to organize workshops in our hospital and elsewhere for the benefit of patients in Lucknow and around Lucknow and in different parts of the state.”
The swami is now planning to provide workshops in assist technology to the staff of other hospitals.
“It is very interesting to note that the philosophy of this technology is embedded in our ancient scriptures, but Mr. L. Ron Hubbard has been able to translate that ancient wisdom to the present reality with this wonderful, modern outlook. So I think this has a long way to go and it has bridged the gap between the eastern wisdom and the western practicality.”
