Scientology Volunteer Minister Ayal Lindeman commemorated the second anniversary of the January 2010 earthquake by returning to Haiti to conduct a series of seminars on first aid and Scientology assist technology.

Scientology assists are techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard that speed recovery from illness, injury stress and trauma.

A 20-year veteran emergency medical technician and licensed practical nurse, Lindeman covered the basic arsenal for disaster response personnel in Haiti: how to create safe drinking water with supplies that are easy to find anywhere; how to avoid the spread of cholera; an oral rehydration formula to keep patients alive despite high fevers; basic first aid including bleeding control, injury stabilization and spinal protection; and transporting of patients using material one can easily find.

His first seminar was held at the Volunteer Ministers headquarters in the Port-au-Prince suburb of Pétionville. The center was established in May 2010 to provide a central location to coordinate the work of more than 500 indigenous Volunteer Ministers teams throughout the island.

This was followed by a seminar at a nursing college in Jérémie, 117 miles west of Port-au-Prince, and another in the city of Lay Cayes. In Jérémie, he also assisted with the logistics involved in establishing a library the Haitian American Nursing Association, HANA, is planning for the school.

Lindeman, a leader of the Scientology Volunteer Minister disaster response that provided emergency relief in the days following the earthquake, has continued his work in the country, returning frequently to teach.

The Scientology Volunteer Minister program was initiated by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard in 1976. There are now hundreds of thousands of people across 185 nations trained in the skills of a Volunteer Minister.
