Scientology Volunteer Ministers Africa Goodwill Tour — Helping the Firefighters of Gaborone

The fire that broke out in a city dump in Gaborone, Botswana, could have had serious consequences, but with fast action and great cooperation, tragedy was completely averted.

Volunteer Ministers worked alongside of the firemen, combating the fire until it was over.

It was a good thing he did, because when the firemen arrived and rolled out their hoses they found they had no water pressure with which to fight the fire.

Two Volunteer Ministers took off for the Water Affairs Department to alert them to what was going on. And with the water supply handled they raced back to personally help bring the fire under control.

People showed up to help, but the smoke was overwhelming, and many dropped to the sidelines, suffering from smoke inhalation. So Volunteer Ministers helped them recover using Scientology assists¹.

The scene was chaotic and the Scientology Volunteer Ministers jumped in to organize people into firefighting shifts. They also sent off a group of people to get water donated from the local supermarket and get it passed out to the firemen.

The Volunteer Ministers worked for six hours straight, alongside of the firemen, combating the fire until it was over.

Weary but relieved, they had just returned to the Volunteer Ministers center when two huge fire trucks drove up to their building.

Concerned that something might have gone wrong, they ran out to find out what was happening. But there was no need to worry. The firemen had just come by to express their appreciation for everything they had done to help.
