Scientology Volunteer Minister Delivers Christmas Gifts to Needy Children

Christmas is just around the corner but without caring individuals like San Fernando youth, Jake Welch, many underprivileged children would not be having a merry Christmas at all.

An officer of the San Fernando Valley Police Department thanks Jake Welch, for the toys the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Youth Corps contributed to the Department’s Christmas Toy Drive.

Jake, an eighteen-year-old Valley resident, has been a Scientology Volunteer Minister for the last two years. He recently formed the Valley Volunteer Ministers Youth Corps, where youths from all over the Valley do projects to help the community.

One of their projects has been to collect toys for the LAPD’s Christmas Toy Drive.

No stranger to community service, last year Jake, along with five hundred Volunteer Ministers from California, joined the Scientology Disaster Response Team in Louisiana to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, where he did whatever was needed to assist local authorities provide care to distraught survivors.

“Helping the community and children is a very important aspect of my life and with the holidays just around the corner I want to ensure no child feels unloved,” said Welch. “As the founder of Scientology L. Ron Hubbard said, ‘Today’s children will become tomorrow’s civilization’ and I want to do everything I can to ensure they are cared for and loved.”
