Volunteer Minister NewsAustralian Scientologists Urged to Join the Volunteer Ministers Team Combating Victoria BrushfiresThe Scientology Volunteer Ministers Disaster Relief Team is working alongside firefighters and other relief workers to combat the Victoria brush fires.
Fifteen fires continue to burn out of control, most of them in Northeast Victoria. The Scientology Volunteer Ministers are working at a base camp providing support to the firefighters. They set up tents for firemen, unload food trucks, prepare and pack hundreds of firemen lunches and organize the other volunteers in the area.
Six hundred firefighters at the staging point where the VMs are located are working 12-hour shifts. Many of them are crediting Scientology assists*, delivered by the VMs, with keeping them on the job despite the grueling conditions, with smoke from the fires so thick its effect is being felt as far away as New Zealand. More help is needed, and all Australian Volunteer Ministers are urged to join the team. For information on how to do so, contact the Volunteer Ministers Coordinator at the Church of Scientology of Melbourne or the International Volunteer Ministers Coordinator. Contact information: Melbourne Volunteer Ministers Coordinator International Volunteer Ministers Coordinator * Assists are techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard. They operate on the principle that one tends to withdraw mentally or spiritually from an injured area. Only by restoring communication with this area can one bring the spiritual element into healing. Assists are used to alleviate stress and physical aches and pains, or to orient a confused or distraught individual to his present environment. Help spread the word! |
