Scientology Volunteer Minister Christine Renna recently returned to her home in Los Angeles, California, after spending the last two weeks training Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka on the procedures of Dianetics.
The monks asked to be trained in Dianetics techniques after seeing how effective they were in helping local residents recover from the trauma caused by the tsunami. More than 60 monks in Sri Lanka have now completed their training, which is based on L. Ron Hubbard’s best-selling book, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.
As more of the Buddhists learn Dianetics counseling and apply the techniques to help people overcome their distress and regain the ability to continue their lives, there is increasing interest from other monks in being trained. Christine will therefore be returning to Sri Lanka this month to train monks from outlying areas on the island.

1. Dianetics The word Dianetics comes from the Greek words dia, meaning "through", and nous, meaning "soul," and is defined as what the soul is doing to the body. Dianetics addresses and handles the effects of the spirit on the body. Dianetics thus helps provide relief from unwanted sensations and emotions, accidents and psychosomatic illnesses (ailments caused or aggravated by mental stress).
