John Travolta salutes NY rescue workers.
Recently in New York City, John Travolta visited a fire station to pay his respects to the NY firefighters who have lived at the heart of the World Trade Center tragedy. Delighted to see the star of Welcome Back Kotter, Saturday Night Fever and Grease, the firemen explained they had to leave immediately due to a call. John solved that by asking if he could go along with them, and accompanied them to the fire call in the role of a Scientology Volunteer Minister.
After the call he invited them to a special Volunteer Minister meeting he was attending, and they did so, in full firemen gear—coats, boots and helmets smelling of smoke. They were given front row seats while John took the podium and thanked them on behalf of all those present for what they do. After a huge ovation, the firemen left to fight another fire, while the Volunteers worked out their exact plans to help the city of New York further through their actions (see more here).
